Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
In a small bowl, combine the diced apples with ground cinnamon and toss until coated.
Fold the cinnamon-coated apples into the batter using a spatula.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter and swirl it gently with a knife or skewer.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment overhang and cool completely on a wire rack.
Sprinkle sea salt over the top before serving.
